Design
Translating ideas into real-time products is a step by step process. Ideas must have:
If all indicators point to success, the design process begins.
Further Design STEPs
Multiple review stages ensure finished designs meet or beat expectations. When drawings are complete, prototyping begins: holding a prototype is much different than looking at a drawing. Prototypes are a key step to identifying and resolving final design issues. Multiple prototypes may be created before the final design is approved.
Develop
Turning an idea into a product usually involves multiple factories. International Innovations completes comprehensive reviews and works closely with selected factories to develop bill of material (BOM) guidelines. The BOM helps clarify tooling costs, unit pricing, minimum order requirements, delivery lead times and final budgets. After a budget is approved, tooling and packaging design begins.
Production
T1, or first shot samples, typically require tooling modification and polishing. T2 and T3 samples are produced as needed. A limited-edition ’pilot run’ helps identify any remaining issues and becomes the first actual production, samples are used for certifications. Once market testing is approved, full production is ready to commence. Throughout the development process, supply chains are analyzed, QA monitoring points identified, and complete QA protocol established.
